Payment availability by state
ClubKeepr lets clubs collect registration fees online by card. In a small number of states, that card option is temporarily paused while we complete sales tax compliance work. This page is the current list, and it is generated from the same rules our checkout uses, so it is always up to date.
States where card payments are paused
| State | Online card payments |
|---|---|
| District of Columbia | Card payments not yet available |
| Ohio | Card payments not yet available |
| Oklahoma | Card payments not yet available |
| Vermont | Nonprofits with the state sales tax exemption certificate only |
Clubs in every other state can collect card payments today. The pause applies based on where the club is located, not where a family pays from, and it is temporary: it lifts for a state as soon as our tax collection support goes live there.
What still works in a paused state
- Everything except the card charge itself. Registration forms, rosters, scheduling, communications, budgeting, and the rest of ClubKeepr work normally, and the club’s ClubKeepr subscription is unaffected.
- Offline payments. Clubs can still accept check and cash for registration fees and record them in ClubKeepr; only the online card option is paused.
- Donations. Online donations stay open in every state, including the paused ones. A true donation is a gift, so sales tax does not apply. That holds only for genuine gifts: a payment that returns something (registration credit, merchandise, a perk) is a purchase, and the pause applies to it.
States where ClubKeepr collects sales tax
In the states below, ClubKeepr is registered as a marketplace facilitator and collects and remits the sales tax due on payments families make to clubs through ClubKeepr checkout, starting on the date shown. Clubs in these states do not collect that tax on those payments themselves.

Why
Sales tax on youth sports fees varies by state, and in some states the law makes a payment platform like ClubKeepr responsible for collecting it. Rather than charge families in those states without the tax handling in place, we pause the card option there until our collection support is ready. Clubs in an affected state see this notice before they subscribe, and again anywhere the card option would normally appear.
